Re-imagine ordinary wood logs into jaw-dropping works of fairy-tale art. The competition will test contestants; artistry, stamina, and carving skills, the artist who out-carves the rest will win a cash prize and be named Dream-Carver of the year!
Contest Details: Calling all fairy-tale carvers! We invite you to enter the best carving to be completed in 2023 at the Faire Rapunzel. You can enter at two levels (beginner, advanced). You can start the competition on Sep. 8, continue on 9, 15 and end on the 16th, 2023.
Winners will be voted on by the public Sept 16th. Carvings will be judged on carving, painting (if desired), and composition. Each carving will be judged on a numerical scale on its own merit, independent of all other entries. Voting will take place by public opinion using the above criteria.
Winners will win cash prizes & gift certificates and be featured in Castle Guardians 2023 and on the Castleshire Website, plus facebook pages.
Fairy Tale Dream- Carver Competition is our annual showcase of the best carvings. It highlights the artistry, fine craftsmanship, and astonishing diversity of fantasy fairy-tale carvings produced at this unusual event.
Prizes
Advanced level 1st place - $200 2nd place – Gift Certificate 3rd place – Gift Certificate
Beginner level 1st place - $100 2nd place – Gift Certificate 3rd place – Gift Certificate
(Beginner carvers are those who have never entered or won a carving competition, or have competed only at a novice or beginner level.)

Entry Fee of $30; Mail this form and check to Castleshire at PO Box 321, Fordland, MO 65652
1. Logs available on site, may come the week before and select which best suits your dream fairy – tale (mark it so no other takes your log). 2. All entries become property of Castleshire. 3. They may be auctioned off to help subsidize the awards. 4. Carvers arrive first day and begin carving at 12 PM, Friday, 5. Breaks taken when the performance is going on, no carving or extra noise. 6. Second, third & fourth day the carver can show up early and start carving at 10 AM if wanted. 7. Awards; voting, happen the last day of the event after the final Rapunzel performance. 8. You can sell your other carvings at the event as well.
